A local magazine featured Nathan Apodaca and his company Kingdom Watches.  Nathan makes custom watches with Seiko movements  based on traditional designs like Rolex.

My favorite watch of all time is the Paul Newman Rolex Daytona.  I reached out Nathan asking him he could make a custom Cobra themed dial and watch.  I sent him the design including the font used in the Cobra logo.  The watch far exceeded my expectations.  The fit, finish and materials are of the same quality as my Swiss watches.  Have Nathan build one for you.

1969 LeMans Gulf GT40 #6 Tribute Watch

I was thrilled with my custom Cobra watch that inspired me to design a GT40 themed watch. The Ford GT40 racing program is nothing short of legendary. Among all the racing liveries, the Gulf remains my all-time favorite. While many are familiar with the Ford GT40 story through the movie Ford vs. Ferrari and the remarkable 1-2-3 finish in 1966, the victory in 1969 was equally impressive.

Ford had factory-supported cars at the 1969 24 Hours of Le Mans through their partnership with John Wyer Automotive Engineering (JWA), which ran Gulf Oil-sponsored GT40 Mk Is. Although Ford officially withdrew its large-budget works team after 1967, JWA acted as the official factory representative, utilizing Ford-backed equipment to secure victories in both 1968 and 1969.

The iconic #6 Ford GT40 Lightweight (chassis 1075), driven by Jacky Ickx and Jackie Oliver, won the race, marking Ford's fourth consecutive victory.

Based on the Omega Speedmaster case, I designed this watch.
